a whole new adventure

And off he goes to basic! The last few days flew by! I'm pretty sure I'm still in shock. I have to brag that I kept it together pretty well, at the MEPS building, where we were able to watch Kristofer swear in and say goodbye.
Being there with so many others in my same situation was somehow comforting. I saw the other families and children and felt better after telling myself "If they can do it, I can do it." I literally patted myself on the back for sparing my family from seeing me being a blubbery mess, but I can't say the lady at the little coffee shop I stopped at on my way home, was so lucky. I'm sure she was in utter shock when I just about broke down at the register. She was probably thinking to herself "I just asked if you wanted some cream in your tea, lady. Calm down." I won't be going back there for a long while! We have to pick our battles though, right?
Watching Kristofer get on that bus and drive away made me appreciate the extra time we had together these last few days. We made sure we focused on each other and enjoyed our last hours as a family under the same roof, for a long while anyway. We walked around temple square and soaked in the sunshine. Its funny how the smallest things turn into the best things when you know your time is limited. Watching Liam play with his dad and the relationship they have suddenly seems like it has become 1000x more beautiful in my eyes.
I am so incredibly proud of Kristofer. I am proud to be his #1 supporter and I am even more proud to be his wife. I can't wait to see him graduate and see him continue to succeed. And I definitely can't wait to see him two months! First day of the rest of our lives!

today's horror story.

Today was full of intentions. I intended to clean the house. I intended to post about the fun projects I've been working on for the baby. I intended to make a delicious dinner. But after the morning I had and how stressed I let myself get, I'm guessing you can see I did none of that. The only thing I could get myself to do was lay down and sleep away the bad mood and self pity I let myself fall into. I had been dreading this DR. appointment since the day I put it my schedule. Glucose test, getting my blood drawn, shot in my hip, plus 2 more shots seems like a lot to a girl with a fear of needles. I woke up feeling a little "off."  I decided to make a little something before I had to down that little orange bottle of terror. At first it wasn't too bad. It tasted like a strong melted orange popcicle, but after getting a few gulps down it seemed to get stronger and stronger. SO much sugar at once. I'm just not used to that! I forced the rest of the bottle down and went on with my morning. After showering and getting ready, all I had to do was put my shoes on and leave. One more step and I was out the door. BAM. No warning, not even a second to realize what was happening. It all came up. It seemed to go everywhere except where it belonged. . . the freaking toilet! I'll leave it at that seeing as though most of you are probably gagging at the thought. I was now 5 minutes late and still cleaning as much as I could. When I finally made it to the office front desk I realized nothing counted. All that forcing myself to swallow that nasty drink, the horrid bathroom incident. . . was for nothing. I still had to get my blood drawn, I still got my hip shot. I now have to go in later this week to get my blood drawn once more and one more shot. My husband keeps saying maybe this morning was a blessing in disguise,  I'm just glad I had him with me today to calm me down and help me realize it's not the end of the world. I'm glad I have someone to snap me out of my drama queen moments.

22 weeks!

Baby is the size of a papaya!

How far along: 22 weeks and 5 days
Total weight gain: last time I weighed myself was just after Thanksgiving dinner but I was almost to my goal weight! 9 pounds gained total.
Maternity clothes: still just a belly band. I should probably invest in some pants soon though. I'm sure they'd be a lot more comfortable.
Sleep: Doing a lot better now. I only wake up once in the early morning.
Miss anything: My feet not hurting so bad after work! They start hurting so easily now.
Movement:He's been moving like crazy lately! He's getting so strong. I love it!
Food cravings: It's strange. I don't have any cravings at all. I haven't since my 1st trimester.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope. Doing pretty good.
Gender: baby BOY!!!
Symptoms: back is starting to feel the belly weight and feet hurting.
Belly button in or out? half way. I'm really hoping it doesn't end up an outty. At least not until the end.
Wedding ring on or off? it better fit for a long time!
Looking forward to: starting on his nursery soon.
Fear: nothing so far. I'm feeling pretty good.

These last couple weeks have been my favorite so far. Baby boy is moving so much! Kris was able to feel him kick for the first time a couple of days ago. It was amazing being able to share the feeling with him. I love just sitting and feeling him kick and kick. I better enjoy it while it's not uncomfortable, right?
