protein pancakes.

I am a pancake lover. I could honestly eat them every day, if it all didn't go straight to my butt. Seriously. I recently found a recipe for cottage cheese and oatmeal pancakes. I decided to try it, maybe tweak it a little bit, and let me tell you, they are AWESOME. I am a big fan of oatmeal so I added a little bit more in my recipe and I found they were a little bit sweeter that way. Enjoy!

 

need:

4 egg whites

1/2 cup rolled oats

1/2 cup low-fat cottage cheese

1/8 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

directions:

 

preheat griddle to low-medium heat (200-250 or so for mine)

Add all ingredients together and stir until mixed well

pour 1/2 cup of mixture onto griddle and let sit until top starts to bubble

when mixture starts to bubble, flip and cook other side

 top with fresh berries or bananas

3 pancakes: 327 calories 

6 months.

+ health: He is still on his iron supplements but other than that he is great.

+ weight: He has his 6 month check up tomorrow, so we'll find out then, but my guess is 20-22 pounds. Big boy!

+ sleep: I finally got his on a schedule and moved him into his own room. Ever since I moved him into his crib he has slept ALL NIGHT and he doesn't wake up until 8:00 am! hallelujah!

+ diet: Other than his bottles we've started him on greens. He absolutely loves being able to eat from a spoon. The moment he gets that bib on, he knows it's coming.

+ crying: Still such a happy boy. He's learned that when his fake cry doesn't get our attention, he can fake cough to get it. It's hilarious.

+ clothes: He's wearing 6 months right now but growing fast!

+ baby gear love: He loves his toys but boy, if you give this kid paper, he will play with it until it is in pieces. Easy enough!

+ social: He loves being around people. He will fight for your attention. I always catch him smiling at strangers over my shoulder. I hope he stays this way forever.

+ milestones: He's still a little wobbly but he is getting this sitting thing down. It will be nice to not have to have the bumbo around all the time. 

He's is getting so big, so stinkin' fast. He is a HALF a year old. I love watching Liam's personality show more and more. He is so funny, happy, goofy, photogenic, and such a sweetheart. He is going to be a handful but I seriously can't wait to see continue to grow into the little person he is.

5 months.

 + weight:16 pounds! Big boy!

+ health: He's doing awesome. His iron is a little low, which is common in premature babies. But other than that he is perfect.

+ sleep: He's getting better at only getting up twice a night. I can't wait for him to learn to sleep all night!

+ diet: He absolutely LOVES his oatmeal cereal. He even knows when the bowl is getting low and start worrying that he won't get anymore. This boy loves his food, that's for sure.

+ crying: He is such a happy little boy. He will laugh and smile at anything.

+ clothes: Still in 3-6 months but I'm sure by next week we will have to bump up to 6-9 months. Growing so fast *tear*

+ baby gear love: He loves his little colorful toys. He finally learned to pick up and hold them so they now keep him busy for longer than two minutes. Thank goodness!

+ social: He is a flirt. He thinks everyone is talking to him no matter what. He will talk over and yell over anyone, doesn't matter who is talking. It's funny how social he is.

+ milestones: He is so close to sitting! I can get him to do it for a minute before he fall to the side, but I'm sure we will get it soon. He loves it!

He is developing the funniest and the sweetest personality. It's amazing how much he changes in just a week! My baby is getting so big!

4 months.

+ weight: We haven't had his 4 mo. check up just yet but he sure is getting heavy!

+ health: Allergies sometimes bug him but other than that he is a healthy little boy.

+ sleep: He's getting better! most nights he's been waking up once at 4:00 and then 8:30 or so. It's been nice!

+ diet: We get to start solids soon! Can't wait!

+ crying: He is a happy little boy. He really only cries when he's tired or give us a fake cry when he's hungry.

+ clothes: Still wearing 3 mo. but this kid is growing fast!

+ baby gear love: He is finally starting to love his bumbo. He has discovered that he has feet and loves to sit and look at them.

+ social: He is such a talker. He will talk to anything and anyone. Even if no one is listening he'll go on and on.

+ milestones: He loves to smile. He is so happy! He loves to laugh, well squeal. If he loves something he will squeal LOUDLY. He is reaching out for everything now. He has realized that if he wants something he can get it.

I've realized that the older he gets, the more fun he is. I love watching his personality change and develop more and more every day. And he sure does have a lot of it! It's amazing being this little boys mom.

That chubby boy on my lap surprised us the other day by deciding he wants start grabbing things! I love that he's getting so active lately and waking up with new ways to surprise us every day. The best part? He's only been using his left hand. We might have a lefty like his mama.
